Getting started
What is Edkool?
Edkool is a universal lifelong learning platform. It's not tied to any school, college, or national curriculum — you choose what to learn, follow a structured progression, and earn XP and skills as you go.
How do I create an account?
Tap "Start free" or "Log in" in the top nav. We use mobile OTP login — enter your phone number, receive a one-time code, and you're in. No password to remember.
Is Edkool free?
Yes, Edkool is free to use. We may introduce optional premium features in the future, but core learning — lessons, assessments, XP, and skill paths — will always be free.
What subjects are available?
We currently offer 11 subjects: Mathematics, Programming, Physics, Machine Learning, Biology, Chemistry, Databases, Statistics, Business, English, and System Design. More are on the way.
Learning & levels
How does the level system work?
Each subject is divided into levels (e.g. Level 1 → Level 7 in Mathematics). Each level contains topics, and each topic contains lessons. Complete all lessons in a topic to unlock the topic quiz. Pass all topic quizzes and the level exam to advance to the next level.
What are topics and lessons?
Topics are groups of related lessons within a level. Lessons are individual learning units — they can be articles, videos, or practice exercises. Each lesson you complete earns 10 XP.
Do I have to follow the order?
Within a level, lessons in each topic should be completed in order. You can however jump between subjects freely — enrol in as many subjects as you like and learn them in parallel.
Can I re-read a lesson I've already completed?
Yes, completed lessons remain accessible at any time. Revisiting them won't re-award XP, but there's no limit on how often you can review material.
Assessments
What is the difference between a topic quiz and a level exam?
A topic quiz tests the lessons within a single topic. A level exam covers the entire level and must be passed to advance to the next level. Both award XP on your first passing attempt.
How many attempts do I get?
Each assessment has a configured maximum number of attempts. If you use all attempts, you'll need to review the relevant lessons before more attempts are unlocked.
What score do I need to pass?
The passing threshold varies by assessment, but is typically 70%. A perfect score (100%) earns a bonus 10 XP on top of the standard pass reward.
XP, ranks & streaks
How is XP earned?
You earn XP for completing lessons (10 XP each), finishing a topic (50 bonus XP), passing an assessment (25 XP), completing a level (200 bonus XP), maintaining a daily streak (5 XP/day), hitting a 7-day streak milestone (25 XP), and earning a skill (100 XP).
What are global ranks?
Your rank reflects your total XP across all subjects. Ranks in order: Novice → Scholar (501 XP) → Practitioner (2,001) → Advanced (5,001) → Expert (15,001) → Master (50,001) → Grandmaster (150,001).
How do streaks work?
Complete at least one lesson per calendar day to keep your streak alive. Missing a day resets your streak to zero. Hit a 7-day streak to earn a milestone bonus. Your longest streak is recorded on your profile.
Skill Paths
What is a Skill Path?
Skill Paths are cross-subject credentials — for example, "Web Developer" or "AI Engineer". Each skill requires you to reach a specific level in a set of subjects. Once you meet all the requirements, the skill is awarded automatically.
How do I check my progress toward a skill?
Visit the Skill Paths page and tap on any skill to see which subjects are required, what level you need in each, and how far along you currently are.
Account
How do I change my name?
Go to your profile (tap your name in the top nav after logging in) and tap "Edit profile". You can update your display name there.
How do I log out?
Tap "Log out" in the top navigation bar. On mobile, open the menu first.
How do I delete my account?
We don't have a self-serve deletion flow yet. Email us at support@edkool.com from the mobile number associated with your account and we'll delete it within 30 days.
I'm not receiving the OTP SMS — what should I do?
Check that you entered the correct country code and mobile number. Wait 60 seconds and request a new code. If the problem persists, email support@edkool.com with your number and we'll investigate.
Pricing
Will Edkool always be free?
Core learning will always be free. We plan to introduce optional premium features (such as offline access, advanced analytics, or a mobile app) in the future, but we'll give ample notice before anything changes.
